Details
The House Doctor Maya vase is a striking, tall earthenware piece finished in a dramatic reactive glaze, closer to a smoky charcoal-black through the neck and shoulders than a straightforward brown, with warm mottled brown breaking through at the base. Each one is hand-thrown, so the exact play of colour will vary piece to piece.
Styling Suggestions
- Let it stand alone on a console or side table, the glaze doesn't need competition
- Fill with tall foliage or dried branches to soften the silhouette and add height to a corner
- Style with other dark, textured ceramics for a moody, tonal vignette
Why We Like It
This is a vase with real presence. The glaze has genuine depth and movement, closer to volcanic rock than a typical ceramic finish, and no two will look quite the same. It works as sculpture on its own, before you've even added flowers.
