Uovo Uovo, from Catharina Bossaert is, first and foremost, an egg cup for two. It consists of two stacked shapes, which form a robust terracotta or concrete block on the outside. On the glazed interior, the imprint of an egg is revealed. ‘It is meant to be a game between the fragile emptiness and the clunky, clay form,’ says Bossaert. ‘I always look for contrasts and tension, such as unexpected combinations of materials, textures and shapes that inspire me.
