The Dark Wood Scented Candle by Meraki is a rum, nutmeg and sandalwood candle in amber glass that brings instant winter cosiness.

Top notes of rum, black pepper and rose open onto a heart of nutmeg, clove and amber, finishing with sandalwood, cedarwood and patchouli. Cotton wicks and a smoky amber glass make it a beautiful Christmas, housewarming or hostess gift, available in Regular and a three-wick Large. Why We Like It

It's spicy and woody without being heavy, the sort of scent that makes a room feel lived in. The amber glass glows when lit, and it looks just as good unlit on a shelf.

Safety Information

Burn until the whole top layer of wax has melted, for no more than 4 hours at a time. Trim the wick before each use and let the wax set before relighting. Place on a protected, heat-resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep it in sight at all times.

Contains octahydro-tetramethyl-naphthyl ethanone, juniper (Juniperus virginiana) extract, clove extract, linalool, citronellol, nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) extract and linalyl acetate. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Dispose of contents and container in line with local regulations.

Returning an Item

Time limits

You have 15 days from the date of delivery to notify us that you'd like to return an item. Once we've authorised your return, you have a further 14 days to send it back.

Condition

Returned items must be:

unused
in their original packaging
with tags and labels intact
in a fully resalable condition

Return postage

Unless the item is faulty, return postage is the customer's responsibility.

Refunds

When you'll be refunded

Once we've received and checked your return, refunds are usually processed within 3 working days.

Delivery charges

Returning your whole order: we refund the item price plus the cheapest standard delivery cost you paid.
Returning part of an order: the original delivery cost is not refunded.
Free delivery orders: if a return takes your order below the free delivery threshold, the standard delivery fee (£4.95) is deducted from your refund.
Large, heavy or specialist courier deliveries: these delivery charges are non-refundable.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault, please let us know as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery for anything damaged in transit, by emailing info@northhome.uk.

Please include:

photos of the product
photos of the packaging
your order number

We will review the issue and arrange a replacement, repair or refund where appropriate, including return postage where needed.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

Made-to-Order and Personalised Items

These are made specifically for you and cannot be returned unless faulty. Please see our separate Made to Order and Special Order Terms & Conditions.

If a fault is found, we may repair or replace the item first before accepting a return or issuing a refund.

Trade and Commercial Use

Trade orders (B2B)

All orders placed through a trade account are final sales. Stock items may only be returned if you notify us within 15 days of delivery and we authorise the return in advance. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back.

Items must be unused, in their original packaging and in a fully resalable condition. A 20% restocking fee is deducted from all authorised trade returns. Return postage and original delivery charges are non-refundable unless the item is faulty.

Items made or sourced to order, including items sourced at your request, cannot be returned unless faulty. If you'd like to try a single item before placing a larger order, please contact us first and we will confirm the terms.

Commercial use

Our products are sold for private use unless bought through an approved trade account. If items are bought and used for:

photoshoots
set styling
influencer or promotional content
other commercial or professional purposes

a 25% restocking fee may apply to any return, and further deductions may be made if items show signs of use. If you need items for professional use, please contact us before buying so we can advise.

We offer free UK delivery on orders over £65. Below this, standard delivery is £4.95.

Large, heavy or fragile items

Some larger, heavier or fragile items need a specialist courier and carry a fixed delivery charge. If this applies, it will be clearly shown at checkout before payment.

Dispatch Times

Orders placed before 11am, Monday to Friday, are usually dispatched the same day.

Orders placed after 11am, at the weekend or on a Bank Holiday are dispatched on the next working day.

Delivery Options

Standard delivery

Most orders are sent using Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked. Delivery is often quicker, but please allow up to 4 working days. During busy periods such as Bank Holidays and Christmas, delivery may take a little longer.

Royal Mail 24 Hour Tracked

Available at checkout for a small additional fee. Usually delivered the next working day after dispatch.

Royal Mail Guaranteed Next Day (by 1pm)

Available for £14.95. Guaranteed delivery by 1pm the next working day after dispatch.

Larger furniture and fragile items

Standard delivery applies to in-stock items only. Larger furniture, fragile products and made-to-order pieces may have separate delivery arrangements or timescales, which are always stated on the product page.

Made-to-order and personalised items

These often need longer production and delivery times. The estimated timescale is shown on the product page.

If an item is unavailable

If an item becomes unavailable or doesn't meet our quality standards when we pack it, we will contact you promptly with your options:

a replacement item
an updated delivery estimate
or a full refund

Handmade Pieces

Many of our products are handmade or made in small batches, so colour, glaze, texture and finish can vary from the website images. This is part of their character and isn't a fault.

Most items can be delivered internationally, with postage calculated at checkout.
