Rattan is a very strong natural material that becomes more brittle over time, and can then crack over time and break. Braiding is a traditional craft method that forms beautiful patterns.
To maintain the compliance of the rattan, it is good to moisten the material at least 1-2 times per month, preferably more times with a mild soap solution - use about 2 tablespoons of soap flakes to 1 liter of lukewarm water, which is then advantageously sprayed on the underside of the material.
Wipe off excess water that is not absorbed and avoid spraying on surrounding material. Since rattan is a living material that contains fiber threads, you can easily cut away any splinters that might otherwise get stuck in clothes.
